My son won a Giant Joebot from school and it came yesterday and we batteried it up tonight. He can now use the remote to drive the 3 foot tall robot into the kitchen, use the walky-talky feature to tell me what he wants and I could load that into Joe's backpack and he can then drive it back to his master. My son can just lay on the couch and be served with the mere flick of a finger. Technology is so wonderful.
So how does it apply to the Body of Christ? You know, how are we to go about serving the Lord our God by serving others if all the service is being done by technology? Don't get me wrong. This is not some anti-technology rant here, I'm no Luddite and love my bread pre-sliced and enjoy coming to work on wheels. I just think the culture technology brings with it can endanger the Body of Christ and its servant heart. It can make us get so comfortable BEING SERVED, that we forget all about SERVING OTHERS.
