Proper Alignment

Ever driven a vehicle that had a lousy front-end alignment. No, I'm not just talking about the ones that will veer right or left if you let go of the steering wheel, I'm talking the ones where at slower speeds the car literally shakes as the two front wheels want to go in different directions. The only way to stop the shaking is to either stop the car or get going fast enough that the tires are moving so quickly forward they can no longer pull to the right or left. (And no, I'm not recommending you do this) That is a car in desperate need of an alignment. If you don't get the alignment fixed, you'll soon be losing tires, possibly as you drive and that is a recipe for disaster.

How about our lives? Do our lives ever get so far out of whack that we are literally shaking as we try and live out each day? Is our heart and soul pulling us one way while our mind and sinful nature tugging us another? Yes, it happens to all of us from time to time, perhaps even more often than it does to our cars, but human alignment is something a doctor or psychologist can fix. Just like the car, not fixing the alignment in our lives can cause uneven wear and tear and eventually lead us to a disaster.

Psalm 62:1-2 (NIV) states ~"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken."

In God alone comes proper alignment. By grace, through faith, we are saved, we are brought into proper alignment by Jesus the Messiah's death upon the Cross and that is the only way we "WILL NEVER BE SHAKEN!"
