Semper Fidelis

Tomorrow marks the 233rd birthday of the US Marine Corps, and the 525th anniversary of Martin Luther's birth. As Lutheran and former Marine, it is thus a date of dual importance to me. The Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis means "Always Faithful," and Martin Luther restored the Biblical truth of by faith alone, both again core philosophies for my being.

I thank God today for His servant Martin Luther and for the US Marine Corps and how He has used both to shape who I am so that I might serve Him by serving others.
